Palkia is the legendary Water-type that rules over space and headlined Pokémon Pearl. Like its counterpart Dialga, its card history splits between the collectible LV.X prints of the Diamond & Pearl years and the modern Origin Forme VSTAR run — with a shared Tag Team card sitting near the top of both.

Palkia tracks close to Dialga in value, and usually a little below it — the two were printed as a matched pair across most sets, but Dialga has the slightly stronger collector following. The exception is Dialga & Palkia GX from Cosmic Eclipse, which belongs to both card runs and pulls demand from collectors chasing either Pokémon.
The vintage side is where condition bites hardest. Great Encounters-era LV.X cards used a soft foil that scratches under almost any handling, and they were played heavily when they were legal, so genuinely clean copies are scarce. A Near Mint Palkia LV.X can be worth three or four times a played one.
On the modern side, Astral Radiance alone holds a standard Origin Forme Palkia V, a full art, an alt art, a VSTAR and a gold VSTAR. They share a name and nothing else where price is concerned, so identifying the exact variant matters more than identifying the Pokémon.
