Two things separate a $15 Dialga from a $250 one. The first is era: LV.X cards were the top rarity of the Diamond & Pearl years, printed in small numbers and heavily played at the time, so clean copies are genuinely scarce today. The second is variant — Astral Radiance alone holds a standard Origin Forme Dialga V, a full-art V, an alt-art V, a VSTAR, and a gold VSTAR, all sharing the same Pokémon and wildly different prices.
Condition matters most on the vintage side. Late-2000s cards used a foil that scratches easily, and edge whitening is common, so a Near Mint Dialga LV.X can be worth several times a played copy of the same card.
